Migratory Musics

 “Migratory Musics” brings together a network of European partners keen to share their practices and thoughts on the role of the arts and school in the process of social integration, without erasing people's cultural heritage. Lullabies are considered as a trace of this heritage, from which a relationship of trust is built between children, their families and their new environment.

The Erasmus+ project "Migratory Musics", at the heart of the promotion of cultural rights, has been awarded "European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018" certification by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. The project promotes the mother tongues and cultural identity of all individuals through an innovative system for welcoming migrant children who speak other languages into the school and the city. This language learning process has been trialled in France, Belgium and Greece, and is based on artistic practices and the bonds between children and their parents. It focuses on collecting lullabies and rhymes from around the world, coupled with the creation of methodological tools.

 

 “Migratory Musics” brings together a network of European partners keen to share their practices and thoughts on the role of the arts and school in the process of social integration, without erasing people's cultural heritage. The partners have developed a toolkit to enhance the effectiveness of their actions in welcoming migrant children and families.

A book and CD containing lullabies sung by children and the stories of migrant children

Podcasts are promoted through partner media and available online.

A communication guide for teachers and parents capitalizes on good practices for welcoming children.

An online course (MOOC) containing all the productions to give teachers and educators the tools they need to welcome foreign language-speaking families and promote language learning through promoting mother tongues.
