Located in the NE of Romania, at the present eastern EU border, Iasi Airport is one of the most ancient accredited airports in Romania. It was established in 1932, having legal personality from 1992. It is a public institution of special regional interest, open to international travel and freight traffic, in accordance with Romanian Government Decision no. 305/20.03.2003. It is based on economic management and financial autonomy, it benefits from transfers from Iasi regional budget, according to art. 3 of Romanian Government Decision no. 398/1997, it is organized and it operates under the law.
Its Mission is to directly contribute to the economic development of IASI and the North-Eastern Region of Romania through continuous diversifying and improvement of the specific services offered, to the benefit of all its customers at home and abroad.
Its Vision is to become the essential air hub to link the East of European Union and the rest of the world.
Overall objective-Developing a modern airport, fully functional, appropriate and consistent with standards set by the airlines and by the globally development of technology.
Specific objectives: Strengthening institutional capacity and improving the organizational culture of IASI Airport by promoting advanced management culture based on increasing value and performance of human resources; Enhancing IASI Airport activity and efficient organization of all existing resources, in order to gain new market shares, to increase turnover growth and to value the potential of the region; Promoting the image and prestige of IASI Airport in order to maintain existing customers and to attract new customers from the competitive market, by matching with uniform developing of IASI and the North East Region of Romania.
Iasi Airport regular activities: -management and operation of own airport base;-ensuring security of all airport activities and of technical means;-global coordination of airport activities and services of ground, passenger and freight traffic, in accordance with national regulations and international standards;-development, modernization and maintenance of runways, taxiways and platforms, of equipment, facilities and constructions, of other means and equipment and introduction of new modern airport services;-cooperation with similar institutions in other states and international organizations in the field;-conducting direct foreign trade for its own activity through own departments and importation of equipment and spare parts, etc.
