The Platform since its establishment promotes a holistic approach to education from cradle to grave and the recognition of the multidimensionality of lifelong learning. While countries within the EU have placed an important emphasis on Lifelong Learning, there is no shared agreement on what it really means, with interpretations varying widely around the world. This adds a level of difficulty to the monitoring and implementation of policies as well as the cooperation between different stakeholders.
In 2019, during the elaboration of the LLLP’s Position Paper "21st century learning environments, the issue of terminology came up several times. In light of this, LLLP has kickstarted the compilation of a Lifelong Learning Glossary in order to bring clarity and transparency by helping develop a common ground of understanding in the field of education and lifelong learning. For this, the Lifelong Learning Glossary Survey was launched with the aim of collecting inputs from stakeholders to understand their needs regarding terminology. Through this survey, the Platform aims to have a better overview of which terms might be problematic for end-users due to several factors such as national contexts and different understandings of the word.
Lifelong Learning Platform would be grateful if you would consider responding to the survey. The survey is open until May 31.
