One of the objectives of the Strategic Framework for European cooperation in education and training and the Erasmus+ Programme is to encourage the development of high-quality transnational work placements across Europe.
The MATCHSI project was coordinated by European Placement Network and featured partners from seven European counties. It was assessed as a ‘Best Practice ‘project by the UYK National Agency.
The idea for MATCHSI came from research and the observation that the quality of the information collected from people hoping to get some work-based experience and then subsequently shared with potential host companies was not always in sufficient depth or as relevant as it needed to be.
The needs of participants and host companies were therefore not always being fully identified or taken into account. This in turn often dramatically reduced the many benefits of this type of mobility experience, often resulting in disappointment and disillusionment amongst those involved.
This is where the MATCHSI project comes in by helping to fill this gap with a user-friendly and adaptable Toolkit to improve the quality of the matching of the needs and expectations of trainees and host companies for an effective internship.
These innovative, up to date resources facilitate the identification, the collection and the transmission of all the relevant information, and are compatible with and complement the already existing tools and methods developed and promoted by the EU, such as ECVET & Europass CV.
