National Coordinators for the Implementation of the European Agenda for Adult Learning –Turkey

Project Kick-Off Meeting

The general aim of the project is to ensure the necessary Institutional Cooperation for adult education and employment and help the adults all over Turkey to continue to live as active citizens by supporting them to acquire modern basic skills. Besides, it is aimed to increase the employability of those who want to participate in employment, but have difficulty in finding jobs themselves.

The specific purpose is to increase the employability of previously convicted adults (ex-convicts) and Supervised Freedom Convicts, who have the priority to be supported as defined in LLL Action Plan 2014-2018 of Turkish Republic Ministry of National Education, by supporting them to participate actively in personal development and job-shadowing programs.

Implementing Agency: Turkish Republic Ministry of National Education

Target Groups: The staff of Public Education Centers, MoNE

                       The staff of Provincial Directorates of Supervised Freedom, MoJ

Beneficiaries: Ex-convicts, supervised freedom convicts, adults

Stakeholders of the project:

  • General Directorate for Punishment and Detention Facilities, Ministry of Justice,
  • General Directorate for Employment, Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services,
  • The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB),
  • The Chamber of Artisans and Craftsmen in Turkey (TESK),
  • Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association ( MUSİAD)

In the context of the project ‘National Coordinators for the Implementation of the European Agenda for Adult Learning National Coordinators’ Project Kick-off Meeting was held. You can see its agenda and participants as in the following;

Opening remarks from;

  • Introductory documentation about structure of DGLLL and its works  

 

  1. The Second Session
  • Presentation by Dr. Faruk Şenyayla’s ,the Project Coordinator, about aims of project, its target   group, methods to be applied and planned activities
  • Presentation by Mr. Yadigar Baran’s , Turkish employment agency (IŞKUR), Pendik Service Center, Work and Vocational Consultant about “ISKUR and Its on-the-job-trainings”

 

  1. The Third Session
  • Presentation by Dr, Sevgi Sezer, Lecturer in Uludağ University, Karacabey Vocational School about “Interinstitutional Cooperation”
  • Hacivat and Karagöz display (a traditional improvised theatre) by Antalya Advanced Technical School’s skilled students
  • Presentation by Prof. Dr. Engin Karadağ, Lecturer in Akdeniz University, Faculty of Education,  about “Leadership and Organizational Behaviour”
  • Displaying of Films on Lifelong Learning TV (LLLTV) titled as “From Master to Apprentice”

1-First Session

“Success Stories” of Suna Kıraç, a document aired on LLLTV

Presentation by Mr.Hakan Partici’s about providing vocational courses to ex-convicts and disadvantageous individuals in Manisa, Turkey

 

2-Second Session

Presentation by Prof. Dr. Meral GÜVEN, lecturer in Anatolian University, Faculty of Education, about “learning how to learn”

3-The Third Session

Presentation by Dr. Zeynep TAÇGIN, Lecturer in Marmara University, Distance Education Applications and Research Center, about “the place of technology and its benefits to learning”

4-Forth Session

A panel discussion regarding “Role of Cooperation in Employment”
