Applicant organisation needed for Erasmus + KA2 project on Family Learning

CPIP Romania - Center for Promoting Lifelong Learning is preparing a project application on family learning and needs a promoter for the project who is willing to submit the application at their National Agency. All the administrative and development work will be done by CPIP. The project applicant should have previous experience in coordinating EU funded projects and solid expertise in the field of adult education/basic skills for adults.

It has been constantly promoted during past programming periods and by many different EU Funding Instruments and Programmes. In this way, it has been possible to highlight the multitude of aspects that can contribute to widespread recognition of the social and cultural value of keeping the elderly members of our communities active and fully involved in the sustainable development of our society.

24.4% of the European citizens still risk social exclusion. According to recent figures the rate of social exclusion differs per country and per target group. Based on recent societal developments (like the increase in youth unemployment and ageing population), it seems necessary to ensure that the increasing number of older people in Europe canactively be involved in European society, in addition to supporting youngsters in order to increase their social inclusion.

This National Association of Disability Practitioners (NADP) report from 2020 covers the experiences of members of professional staff in institutions who are working directly with disabled students. It has revealed some pockets of excellent practice with disability professionals reporting a good working atmosphere, supportive teams, excellent work-life balance and effective management at every level. However, the majority of respondents reported a difficult working environment both physically and emotionally.

In February and March when it became evident that COVID-19 was going to change the world, at the IÐAN Education Center they decided to move quickly. In just a few weeks, they revolutionised their teaching methods. Before they gave courses at the educational center but were in the process of developing reinventing online education. Now, a few months on, they are streaming lectures, producing webinars, podcasts, and offering online courses and educational material on the website to support and inspire their learners.

This paper outlines the concrete actions that are required if the Decade is to be a success. These were prioritised through a series of expert and stakeholder consultations. Action needs to commence immediately, and in many cases is already underway, but not as independent programmes of work given they are inextricably linked. The most important thing is to keep in touch with your readers; preferably in a creative way. It’s important to remember not to overwhelm them with news, but to choose content that is relevant and valuable to them. Contact with co-workers is also very important - providing support for each other, providing help in using Internet tools, or coming up with joint ideas for new activities. Together you can do more, and you can do it better!

As quickly as the “playground” is changing and developing, teachers have to allow themselves to act according to the motto of “Leave some space for imperfection”. Looking back, Sonja is pleased to say that her experiences with online teaching were very positive and that it was really, really fun to experience intercultural competences in this new format.
