Guide to institutional good practices in quality assurance in initial VET
The guide aims to reach a target public of students in initial VET, to raise VET attractiveness and relevance. The examples provided showed students’ enthusiasm, raised confidence and self-esteem when relating to initial VET and future jobs.
IVET schools were invited to share their positive experiences in organising and implementing actions, at institutional level, that brought added value to their school, and professional experience both for their teachers and students. Many schools were enthusiastic about disseminating experiences achieved through various projects engaged at institutional level.
The guide is made of a selection of positive experiences reported by initial VET schools and their partners: employers and local authorities. It is structured in six thematic chapters relevant for VET:
- promoting work-based learning in partnership with companies;
- boosting innovation and entrepreneurship;
- development of quality assurance mechanisms in initial VET;
- improving access to initial education and training;
- career guidance and counselling;
- achieving and strengthening key competences and other competences (such as sustainable development, environment protection).
The NCTVETD disseminated the guide to various stakeholders; it was sent electronically to all IVET schools that were invited to share their experiences. NCTVETD also presented the guide within the Peer-learning study visit with members of the ENQAVET network organised in October 2017, during the second European vocational skills week and nationally within an information session at the end of November 2017. It was also made available on the ReferNet Romania website and social media and on the website of the National Group on Quality Assurance in Initial VET.
