Random learning can occur in everyday life. It is not an activity which is intentionally planned in advance and is not bound to special or specific places (e.g. classes) or to mediators (e.g. teachers). Random learning can be considered as a natural learning mechanism. Learners may often not be aware that they have learnt something. Note: In level 1, this is considered synonymous with ‘Informal learning’
A process of quality review undertaken within an institution for its own ends (with or without the involvement of external peers).
Training provided to employees as part of their continuing professional development.
A work-based training process or activity for apprentices/trainees. It leads to a formal qualification. The activities are often financed (partly or wholly) by the enterprise, but this is not a mandatory condition. Apprentices/trainees often have a special training contract.
