1st International Informal Learning Congress will be held between 1-3 November 2019 in Nevşehir, Cappadocia region under the coordination of Hacettepe University Faculty of Education. In the congress, several good examples of informal learning will be presented in addition to the academic presentations. Congress includes, but are not limited to following activities.

  • There will be invited speakers with valuable international studies in informal learning.

  • Various activities are planned for teachers, one of the most valuable stakeholders of the education process. In this context, workshops will be organized by academicians, science center staff and experienced teachers on science and social issues with the contributions of several science centers hosted by Kayseri Science Center.

  • The short presentations of young researchers will be evaluated under the direction of experts. In this regard, first round table activity will be carried out under management of Prof. Dr. Ayşe Çakır İlhan. This activity will be focused on a museum study.

  • During the Congress, various non-school environments will be sampled and implemented. The “science cafe” event on Antarctica will be presented both in the context of practice and in the context of content. Another example would be the Planetarium activity. Detailed information about technical use of planetarium and the role of planetarium in education will be given. “The Home of Science” event, which will be organized by METU, will also be presented to the participants.
