Higher, Further, Faster, More says that, while UK universities are some of the best in the world, they are sitting on significant financial reserves, and public spending is currently skewed too much towards Higher Education to the detriment of Further Education. Dobre novice se hitro širijo. O Projektnem učenju mladih (PUM) in njegovih uspešnih rezultatih, smo na EPALE že pisali.

Tokrat v ospredje postavljamo prispevek, ki je bil predvajan v oddaji Tednik na RTV SLO1. V njem je predstavljen veslač Rajko Hrvat, ki je pred leti s pomočjo mentorjev v PUM končal srednjo šolo in celo diplomiral. Prispevek se dotika tudi problematike financiranja vseh PUM-ov v Sloveniji.

20. oktobra ljubitelji statistike praznujejo svetovni dan statistike. Na Statističnem uradu RS (SURS) bodo ta dan, od 13. ure dalje odprli svoja vrata.  Za vse uporabnike njihovih podatkov so ob letošnjem svetovnem dnevu statistike pripravili več zanimiv izdelkov in aktivnosti. Vabljeni so vsi, ki se jih statistika kakorkoli dotika in ki jih zanima kaj SURS dela.

Unlike most workers, apprentices have to travel from home to at least two sites to carry out their employment contract: the practical (the company employing them) and theory training sites (apprentice training centre or school).

The long-standing apprenticeship entry-level age range (16/18) faces its first mobility obstacle (no car, diversity/lack of public transport, lack of accommodation in most apprentice training centres).

Za masivne podatke oz. big data je na kratko značilno troje: ogromna količinahitrost in raznovrstnost. Količina podatkov, ki jih ustvarimo v zadnjih letih, narašča eksponentno.

Na Statističnem uradu Republike Slovenije (SURS) so objaviljeni podatki o stopnji anketne brezposelnosti za leto 2014, ki kažejo, da je bila ta nižja kot v letu 2013. Število delovno aktivnih se je povečalo za 11.000. Skupino delovno aktivnega prebivalstva sestavljajo zaposleni, samozaposleni in pomagajoči družinski člani.

Experimental data showing the learning and employment outcomes of learners completing further education training between 2010 and 2013.

This publication presents experimental outcome based measures covering the destinations (into employment and learning) and progression of post-19 learners. It covers learners completing funded further education training in 2010 to 2011, 2011 to 2012 and 2012 to 2013. The measures make use of datasets already held by government to observe learning and employment activity in the academic year after learners complete their training.
