The European Social Policy Network has published a thematic report on social investment policies across Europe: Social Investment in Europe - A study of national policies at the request of the European Commission.
The European Commission published an overview of the integrated social services focused on the labour market and social (re)integration in the EU. This report broadly covers the macro trends affecting welfare reform, and it offers suggestions on how to improve the efficiency of service delivery for labour market activation.

In the 21st century, the rapid pace and complexity of economic, technological and cultural changes require women and men to adapt and re-adapt throughout their lives – all the more so in the context of globalisation. In this era of the knowledge society – where production structure is shifting towards greater knowledge use and away from reliance on physical capital, manufacturing and agricultural production – growth in personal, national and regional incomes is increasingly defined by the ability to create, manage, disseminate and innovate in knowledge production.
This anniversary publication presents a concise picture of essential features of VET in Europe. Modernising VET to ensure its outcomes empower learners to find and maintain jobs and advance in their educational careers, has been at the heart of European cooperation for more than a decade. Global inventory of regional and national qualifications frameworks. The 2015 global inventory of regional and national qualifications frameworks, compiled by Cedefop, Unesco-HQ, the European Training Foundation and the Unesco Institute for Lifelong Learning, was launched on 25 April in Riga, Latvia.
The inventory showcases 86 countries and examines how learning outcomes of all types of learning - formal, non-formal and informal - are being integrated into regional and national qualifications frameworks.

Open Educational Resources have become an integral part of adult learning in Europe. However, many issues concerning quality, legal frameworks and infrastructures remain unclear. In this context, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research provides funding for research projects on OER in Germany. An expert group coordinated by Deutscher Bildungsserver will analyse the needs for digital infrastructures (e.g. E-platforms) for OER.
