The following report has been prepared within the framework of the DIMA project. It outlines adult education strategies, policies and tools that have been introduced and implemented in the partner countries: Cyprus, Ireland, Slovakia and Slovenia. It also aims to illuminate the extent to which EU strategies and policies on adult education influence national policy-making in the field. The report is largely based on both national and European state-of-the-art reports as well as existing research and statistics provided in a number of European publications.

In 2014 AONTAS was nominated by the Department of Education and Skills to become the National Coordinator for the implementation of the European Agenda for Adult Learning (EAAL). The EAAL highlights the need to raise awareness and increase participation in adult learning. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and co-financed by the Department of Education and Skills through SOLAS, the Further Education and Training Authority.

Humanitarian Action in the Mediterranean: Quo Vadis?
The Mediterranean Sea demarks a blue border, that dividing the North African Coast from the European Union. The border is a political space, separating and protecting nations and citizens – sometimes with devastating consequences. For more than a decade, this stretch of water has witnessed an increasing number of refugee and other forced migrants’ desperate attempts to reach European shores: the Mediterranean Sea also marks a humanitarian space.

The idea to create the comparative report on migrant education in the Baltic States was suggested by Eve Magi, senior analyst of Praxis Center for Policy Studies of Estonia at the end of 2013. She was joined by Lithuanian Public Policy and Management Institute researcher Hanna Siarova and a representative from Latvia Liesma Ose (Global Development Institute). As a result of the co-operation Liesma Ose made the presentation entitled Comparative Assessment of the Strategies and Legislation concerning the integration of migrants in education in the Baltic States.

Ideja veidot Baltijas valstu imigrantu izglītības salīdzinošu ziņojumu radās Igaunijas sabiedriskās politikas centra PRAXIS vecākajai pētniecei Evei Magi 2013. gada nogalē. Viņai pievienojās Lietuvas PPMI ( Public Policy and Management Institute) līdzstrādniece Hanna Siarova un Latvijas pārstāve Liesma Ose ( Globālās attīstības institūts). Sadarbībā tapa Liesmas Oses prezentācija: Baltijas valstu imigrantu integrācijas likumdošana un stratēģijas -- salīdzinošs izvērtējums.

The idea of this comparative, critical and constructive study also belongs to Eve Magi, and it has been elaborated together with Liesma Ose and Hanna Siarova within SIRIUS, the European Policy Network on the education of children and young people with a migrant background, which brought together policy-makers, academic community and NGO activists (2012-2014). The study and policy recommendations issued in English were created in 2014.

Arī šis salīdzinošais, kritiskais un konstruktīvais pētījums ir Eves Magi iecere, darbojoties kopā ar Liesmu Osi un Hannu Siarovu Eiropas imigrantu izglītības politikas tīklojumā SIRIUS, kas apvienoja politikas veidotājus, akadēmisko aprindu pārstāvjus un NVO aktīvistus laika posmā no 2012. līdz 2014. gadam. Pētījums un politikas ieteikumi, ko var iepazīt angļu valodā, tapa 2014. gadā.

Le CNEFOP (Conseil National de l'Emploi, de la Formation, et de l'Orientation Professionnelles) a adopté au mois d'Avril 2016, son premier rapport sur la mise en oeuvre du compte personnel de formation (CPF) et du conseil en évolution professionnelle (CEP). Ils sont deux nouveaux droits faisant suite à la loi du 5 mars 2014 qui concerne la réforme de la formation professionelle en France.

Education and Lifelong Learning Watch (LLL Watch) is a monitoring tool that provides information on different aspects of education, policy trends in the field of education as well as challenges faced at the European and national level regarding lifelong learning.

As part of the commemoration of the January 2015 attacks in Paris against freedom of speech and thus, against the core of European fundamental values, the LLLPlatform released a Position Paper on “Education to foster intercultural understanding and solidarity in Europe”. To face the challenges ahead, the paper explores how education may be the mean to establish a holistic and sustainable society, using long-term and wholesome solutions.

This chapter examines the evidence for claims that lifelong learning has a measurable impact on people’s lives. It considers this evidence in three main areas: the economic impact, the impact on individual well-being, and the impact on the wider community. In particular, it focuses on recent studies that explore longitudinal data, following people’s behaviour over time. It also tries to identifywhere those benefits flow, not least because it might seem reasonable to suppose that those whobenefit might decide to share in meeting the costs.

Seeking Support: a guide to the rights and entitlements of separated children outlines the rights of refugee and migrant children in England, and provides advice to professionals on how to support young people in accessing those rights.
The fourth edition of the guide was comprehensively updated and expanded in 2012 from the first, second and third editions published in 2003, 2005 and 2009 respectively. National contact details of agencies that can support separated children are provided at the end of the guide.
