Global inventory of regional and national qualifications frameworks. The 2015 global inventory of regional and national qualifications frameworks, compiled by Cedefop, Unesco-HQ, the European Training Foundation and the Unesco Institute for Lifelong Learning, was launched on 25 April in Riga, Latvia.

The inventory showcases 86 countries and examines how learning outcomes of all types of learning - formal, non-formal and informal - are being integrated into regional and national qualifications frameworks.

The EMES International Research Network, in partnership with the Finnish Network on Social Enterprise (FinSERN), is pleased to announce the 5th International Research Conference on Social Enterprise entitled “Building a scientific field to foster social enterprise eco-system”.

Open Educational Resources have become an integral part of adult learning in Europe. However, many issues concerning quality, legal frameworks and infrastructures remain unclear. In this context, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research provides funding for research projects on OER in Germany. An expert group coordinated by Deutscher Bildungsserver will analyse the needs for digital infrastructures (e.g. E-platforms) for OER.

Teden vseživljenjskega učenja (TVU), dobitniki Priznanja za promocijo učenja in znanja odraslih za leto 2014 pa so prejeli zaslužena priznanja.

Just 14% of adults aged between 25 and 29 are still in education, according the to latest Eurostat research. The ‘Being young in Europe today’ report highlights a lack of involvement of young people in lifelong learning. The publication gives us some new data on young people aged 15–29 in the EU, and one of the aspects covered is young people’s participation in education.

Das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung fördert im Rahmen seines Programms „digitale Medien in der beruflichen Bildung“ Forschungsprojekte zum Thema Open Educational Resources (OER). Welche Infrastrukturen (z.B. E-Plattformen) für freie Lernmedien in Deutschland geschaffen werden müssen, untersucht eine Machbarkeitsstudie des Deutschen Bildungsservers. Ein weiteres Projekt, „Mapping OER – Bildungsmaterialien gemeinsam gestalten“ von Wikimedia Deutschland, beschäftigt sich mit Fragen der Qualitätssicherung.

Basic skills of prisoners tend to be below the average qualification level. DVV International compiled examples of good practice in prison education in Europe and other parts of the world. The brochure contains an article on the use of the literacy platform in German prisons as well as further case studies of prison education in South East Europe, Central Asia, North Africa and South America.

Analitični potencial raziskave PIAAC – prispevek k izobraževanju in razvoju Slovenije

V torek 26. maja 2015 bo v Ljubljani na Ministrstvu za izobraževanje, znanost in šport (MIZŠ), Masarykova 16, potekala zaključna konferenca »Analitični potencial raziskave PIAAC – prispevek k izobraževanju in razvoju Slovenije«. Zaključna konferenca pomeni zaključek dveinpolletnega projekta »Merjenje učinkovitosti sistema izobraževanja in usposabljanja za izboljšanje usposobljenosti izobraževalcev odraslih 2013–2015«. V plenarnem delu bo odzive na rezultate raziskave v drugih državah predstavil dr.

Scholarly attention to global governance has given much consideration to core institutions for economic and social development, like the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the European Union or the World Bank. Less attention has been paid to those institutions such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) that hold “enormous intellectual capacities to deliberate the most complex of global problems related to constructing the defenses of peace in the minds of human beings” (Sigh 2011).
