Alytus Vocational Training Centre (further – Centre) is a public institution, established in 2004. The main activity of the Centre is vocational training. The other areas of the activities are: secondary education, basic education, education support services. It is the biggest Vocational training centre in the south of Lithuania. There are 4 departments in the Centre: Industry and Trade Department, Business Service Department, Construction Technologies and Business Department, Mykolas Krupavičius Agriculture and Business Department. The Centre is one of the biggest educational institutions in the region of South Lithuania. About 1850 students are learning in the Centre and about 1000 adults are learning in this institution under continuous and non-formal educational programs every year. There are realized 33 programs for formal vocational training, 2 of these programmes are designed for students with special needs. Also there are 18 programs for continuous vocational training. Basic and secondary education is developed in Gymnasium Section. Students are learning in modern classes, laboratories and rooms for practical vocational training. Learning environment is adjusted for students with special needs or movement weakness. According to research analysis of Labour Market the Centre is preparing new programs and renewing the old programs, which are realized. 245 employees are working in the Centre. 132 of them are pedagogues. The main aim of the Centre work is – to develop spiritual, intellectual and physical powers of the person. Also to raise creative, responsible citizen, who has gain skills and competences for successful social integration and life long learning. Quality Management System LST ENISO 9001:2008 was implemented in Alytus vocational training centre at 24 January 2014.
