Smart for Democracy and Diversity

The Smart for Democracy and Diversity (SDD) ERASMUS+ project, started in December 2020 and scheduled to last until July 2023,  intends to promote shared values, equality, social inclusion, diversity and non-discrimination through a digital learning approach. The integrated project approach further aims to establish sustainable links between organisations active in education, the welfare sector and policy-making including the local and regional level.

The SDD project aims to create a low-threshold and playful access to the experiential worlds of marginalized persons. This serves to promote a self-reflective and emphatic examination of the topic which is particularly common in anti-racist and gender-equitable educational workshops. Experience shows, however, that participants often find it difficult to change perspectives if conventional means such as knowledge transfer are applied. The project will close this gap by the multimedia-based approach of the game and the accompanying material.

In order to achieve the project objectives, four key tasks will be carried out. They form different components for an integrated training offer but can be also used independently from each other:

1. The compendium Experiencing Hate Speech: Responses, Coping Strategies, and Interventions - looking at the world with the eyes of persons who experience hate speech.

2. Interactive learning: learning game, which will give the player a multimedia interactive access to the topic; tested and probed in a blended learning mobility.

3. Workshop curriculum and trainer manual: the handbook will contain a workshop concept suitable for the game and its replicability.

4. Fighting racism and hate speech: recommendations for political decision-makers, associations and lobby-groups.

To ensure a broad outreach to different countries, all materials will be translated into Czech, Dutch, English, German, Italian, Portuguese and French.

Diskussjoni ta’ EPALE: Il-forniment ta’ tagħlim ta’ ħiliet bażiċi

Il-ħiliet bażiċi huma trasversali. Dawn mhumiex rilevanti biss għall-politika edukattiva, iżda huma rilevanti wkoll għall-politiki tal-impjiegi, tas-saħħa, soċjali u ambjentali. Il-bini ta’ miżuri ta’ politika koeżivi li jappoġġjaw lill-persuni bi ħtiġijiet bażiċi ta’ ħiliet huwa meħtieġ mhux biss biex il-Perkorsi ta’ Titjib tal-Ħiliet ikunu suċċess, iżda wkoll biex jgħinu fil-bini ta’ soċjetajiet aktar reżiljenti u inklużivi. Id-diskussjoni online se ssir f’din il-paġna fis-16/17 ta’ Settembru bejn l-10:00 u s-16:00 CET u se tkun immoderata mill-Koordinaturi Tematiċi ta’ EPALE tal-EBSN
