Assessment of teachers' needs for professional development at the beginning of teaching career

The Association of Regional Centers for Professional Development of Educators and Vocational Training Centers "Network of regional centers and centers for professional development of Serbia" published comprehensive results of the assessment of the needs for professional development of teachers with up to 5 years of experience in the profession.

Every year, the employees of the "Network of regional centers and centers for professional development of Serbia" conduct a survey of the needs of teachers and employees in education for vocational training.

The research of teachers’ needs for professional development at the beginning of their careers was undertaken with the aim of identifying the areas and topics that require the provision of additional support to educators with up to 5 years of experience in educational work.

In May 2013, members of the Network examined the needs of teachers in the regions they cover, and on that occasion a total of 699 teachers and education employees with no more than 5 years of service have been interviewed.
