Vezirköprü Halk Eğitimi Merkezi

Our organization is located in Vezirköprü District which is in a disadvantaged area and 115 km away from Samsun Province. 80% of our learners live in villages. It  is a wider and adult educational center which gives wider education to around 10.000 people every year. We have been opening  courses in around 3.000 different fields. We open courses in the city center and also in villages to give all people a chance to be trained in their living environment. Our trainers are experienced and they are very good in their fields.  We have a good capability to organise events. Every year, we organise ceremonies and opening of exhibitions of works of our courses. We organise this with the participation of public people. We are in close collaboration with our governor and the municipality. We also cooperate with civil society associations in our region and we support most of the activities that take place in our region. We have no physical classroom problems to open courses and we always have enough space to realize social activities.   Every year, we open a lot of courses in handicrafts. We especially open this kind of courses for unemployed people so that they can produce some works and they can earn a living by selling them. We also have exhibitions every year where people can present their creative work of artistic products. Most of our learners from villages are unemployed women who live in disadvantaged areas away from the city center. They attend our free courses and get certificates to use in their working life or to get a job. Some people take our courses just to develop themselves in certain areas. Most unemployed housewives attend our courses to gain new skills in handicrafts and they produce handicrafts for themselves or for a living. Our learners use their creative skills and methods to produce new works. We want to share their experiences with learners from other countries.

Our project team is organising a lot of activities in the district every year. These are the exhibitions of the products of our courses, cooperatively organised by our institution and the other public institutions. Among our activities are seminars, skill developing courses, trainings, art and craft courses like embroidery and traditional crafts courses, clothing, etc. Photography and tourism is one of the activities that most of our learners are interested and we already opened a course about developing the tourism in our region and we certified at least 30 learners on this.
