A year in the life of EPALE

16/12/2015
Emma Grainger
Valoda: EN

Emma Grainger has worked as the EPALE Executive for Ireland throughout 2015. In this rhyming blog she shares some memorable posts and thoughts on EPALE as the year comes to a close. It has been inspired by the Beatles song 'A day in the life' The altering of famous song lyrics as an informal learning technique is something Emma used in her past career as a drama facilitator with both young people and adults. Groups may choose a song and divide the verses amoung them to make the lyrics relevant to the topic they are learning about. The possibilities for this method are as endless as the number of songs you can think of and it is a great end of term fun activity to sum up learning. Enjoy!

I read the news today, oh boy

About a lucky man who won a prize

You know the prize was language based

The ceremony was Leargas hosted

Here's the article as it was posted

We blew our bubbles at Ireland's launch

We discussed the notion that the sector’s changed

A crowd of people came and met

They'd seen the site before

Nobody was really sure

If this online community offered moreeeee

I saw a film today, oh boy

Portuguese grannies do graffiti art

A crowd of people came to see

And I just had to look

More learning than in book

I'd love to sign you in

Wake up, fall out of bed,

Got EPALE in your head

Find your user name and password

Looking up, searching, you know that its great

Find an event, grab your pen

Noting down where and when

Search for partners to run project with

Now creating a partnership is no myth

I read the news today, oh boy

Four thousand people want to do a course

And though the course is rather small

They did consider them all

Now they know how many teachers it will take to fill the shortfall

I'd love to sign you in.
