EPALE UK User Tour & Producing Quality Content Webinar

On 4 December 2019, EPALE UK held an interactive webinar that explored the benefits and features EPALE has to offer, provided a tour of the platform and showed users how to submit high quality content. The webinar was recorded and is now available to view on our National Support Service pages, with many other excellent guidance documents. Our users make up one of the biggest online adult learning communities and their experiences of the platform and drive to contribute content to the site are extremely important to us.

The first half of the webinar discusses the work that we do at EPALE, our European impact and the themes explored on the platform. Users are guided through the most important features, including how to register for a user account, where to find the UK National Support pages and supporting documents, how to set up Communities of Practice and Collaborative Spaces (focused open and closed membership user groups), and where to find the different content types and how to upload new content.

The second half of the webinar provides a detailed guide to submitting content, using a blog post as an example and putting it into the digital manuscript. Formatting and design is given focus, showing users how to edit and preview their content before they are happy to submit it. We discuss what we expect from each different type of content: news articles; resources; event information; and blog posts, and give essential tips that will assist in a smooth and enjoyable content writing experience.

The resource will be of use to anyone who has recently joined EPALE UK, or is planning to. It is also ideal for seasoned users who need a little guidance on how to truly utilise the site, or who need some further direction before compiling content. Even those who are experienced content contributors may find the webinar beneficial for providing some extra helpful tips.
