World Photo Day is celebrated by lovers of photography all over the globe and takes place every year on 19 August. It began in 2009 when an Australian photographer decided to encourage people to share their photographs and raise awareness of problems in the world that are important to them. Despite beginning as a small event with just 250 people taking part, World Photo Day now successfully encourages millions to join in the fun and raises thousands of dollars for charitable causes. If you are keen to share you work and to contribute to a good cause, celebrate World Photo Day and sign up to take part here. Do you teach formal or non-formal photography classes? Spread the word and get your students to sign up too!
Do you have any photographs showing an impact on adult learning? Take part in our Star Supporter Photo Competition and be in with the chance to win a polaroid phone printer worth £100 and receive an invite to our annual conference in October 2019!
The EPALE UK Star Supporter Photo Competition coincides with World Photo Day 2019 and the EPALE team are accepting photo entries between 15 July and 26 August 2019. Adult learning practitioners and organisations based in the UK should submit photographs accompanied with brief captions explaining how their images show an impact on adult learning. Entrants can then promote their content to gain likes and comments on the platform and the photo that encourages the greatest amount of engagement will win the prize. Take a look at our competition page for more information and to download an entry template. Your participation is also a great way to raise your profile or gain exposure for your organisation.
So get snapping and remember to send your photo in to us at firstname.lastname@example.org by 12pm 26 August 2019!
