Publicēja Katalin Damjanovich pirms 2 gadi 4 mēneši

Trešdiena 13 Septembris 2017 līdz Ceturdiena 14 Septembris 2017

The key event of the 4th French National Literacy Days, the City of Good Practices will take place on September 13  and 14, 2017 in Lyon (France). Organized by ANLCI (National Agency for Fighting Illiteracy), this meeting aims to disseminate good practices in supporting literacy and enhancing engagement in the fight against illiteracy.

This event is the largest meeting place in France where professionals and volunteers working in the fight against illiteracy can exchange their experiences and practices.

The City of Good Practices meeting will enable participants to exchange and compare experiences, to meet “solution providers”, to be inspired by good practices, and to have hands-on experience of tools that have been proven effective in the fight against illiteracy. There will also be opportunities to present and talk about solutions which can be adapted to different situations: at school, in extra-curricular activities, in the work place, and for the inclusion of young adults facing literacy difficulties in cultural activity, citizenship or integration in the labour market – these will be the key objectives of the two day meeting. The City of Good Practices will offer a platform for people who work with these issues on a daily basis to talk about how they help people who face difficulties in reading, writing, numeracy or digital activities.

Draft programme:

  • Plenary sessions focusing on current issues, shaping collective action to fight illiteracy, and to reach agreement on key priorities to guide future action
  • Discussion forums on how to inform, increase awareness, sustain motivation and engage diverse stakeholders in issues related to illiteracy, including policymakers, practitioners and members of the public
  • How to foster and sustain learners’ motivation to learn, with examples of successful approaches across diverse populations and regions
  • A permanent professional meeting place so called “Agora”, dedicated to the open exchange of ideas, meeting new colleagues and widening networks, allowing professionals and volunteers to capture the breadth and depth of the challenges faced in different regions, to discover new tools, practical guides and innovative solutions.
  • Conferences, workshops and presentations will guide practitioners on using the 15 practical guides produced in 2016. These guides focus on specific themes such as: how to enable persons facing literacy or numeracy difficulties to access the "Cléa” certification or to obtain a driving license; how to organize educational family programs; how to support persons facing illiteracy to be included successfully in economic activity and/or apprenticeship programs; and how to facilitate access to the digital world and health care.

Please save the date in your diary to make sure you can join us at this event which will celebrate the successes and discuss the challenges facing those involved in the fight for reading, writing and basic competences for all.

The event will be held in the French language, with the possibility of plenary sessions and some workshops being translated (currently under investigation). We welcome the participation of practitioners and stakeholders from across Europe. Information about the event will soon be sent to all European Erasmus agencies, and featured in the official Epale Programme.

More information will pe available and published on EPALE soon.
