The EBSN EPALE Team is glad to announce its second and third online course for policy-makers, experts and other professionals who have a stake in basic skills policy and are currently engaged in the implementation of the Upskilling Pathways recommendation.

There is little methodological professional material, - particularly ones related to adult learning – that may be of good help to organizations and professionals wishing to introduce work-based learning Therefore this project - in the context of which such a complex methodological handbook has been developed that promotes the introduction and effective application of work-based learning forms, the learning outcome-based training plans in adult vocational education and training across Europe - fills a large gap.

Benenden Health has released a wellbeing guide in partnership with HRZone, which enables users to ‘develop an age-diverse health and wellbeing strategy’ and meet the wellbeing needs of a multigenerational workforce. It provides a detailed description of the five generations currently making up the UK workforce and discusses ways to meet the needs of all of them. It will be most beneficial for employers and senior managers and is free to download.

In the ‘Work-based Learning & Apprenticeships’ network, 29 European educational agencies selected ten Austrian projects on the topic of “work-based learning” from over 350 projects from around Europe.  This brochure aims to disseminate the project results to a wider audience in Austria and highlight the sustainable benefits.

Različiti su oblici učenja na radnom mjestu koji nisu isključivi, već omogućavaju obuhvatnost znanja i vještina. Takvo se učenje planira kroz rutinske aktivnosti na nivou organizacije, kao i suočavanje sa zadacima i problemima za koje tek treba pronaći rješenja, a moguće je obučavati radnu snagu i kroz strukturirane programe izvan posla.

Digital learning workplace

Digital technologies have enormous potential to boost adult learning in the workplace. EPALE thematic coordinator Andrew McCoshan has been working with EU Member States on the ET 2020 Working Group on Vocational Education and Training to examine the opportunities and challenges involved. This blog post looks at the opportunities, whilst an accompanying article focuses on the challenges.

Citizens' Curriculum workshop

Workshop 5 focused on research and innovative practice to support upskilling and earnings progression, highlighting the powerful benefits that adult learning can confer. To realise those benefits, particularly for disadvantaged groups, providers and learners need flexibility. Orienting funding and quality assurance systems towards the outcomes of provision, rather than just its inputs and outputs, might help allow that flexibility.

Utilizarea multimedia în programele de învățare înseamnă mai mult decât utilizarea luminii sau a unui aparat foto. Trebuie să luați în considerare tipul de experiență pe care încercați să-l oferiți și modul în care multimedia va ajuta la îmbunătățire. Dacă obiectivul este realizarea unui conținut mai interesant și creșterea implicării membrilor, un material bine proiectat poate face acest lucru.

In the framework of the project Erasmus+ PRODOME, the study "The state of the art of domestic work in Europe" (deliverable 1) has been produced, based on desk and field research involving 54 experts and 109 domestic housekeepers via semi-directive interviews, a Delphi exercise and questionnaires.

The main findings are the following ones:

Delegates listen to a keynote speaker

On 23 October 2019, EPALE UK and the Learning & Work Institute (European Agenda for Adult Learning) held a joint conference in London. I attended the workshop which presented the experience of Belfast in becoming a UNESCO Learning City with a specific focus on tackling inequalities, especially around health and wellbeing. Core to the work and future development is connectivity – linking globally, locally and across sectors/disciplines. This point was taken up by the second speaker who looked at the development needs of the adult learning workforce and how these should be linked to those of related disciplines.

TRACK project addressed socially disadvantaged informal carers dealing with people affected by Alzheimer, to support them during their caring experience and beyond, by reinforcing their well-being, skills, and employability.

U Osnovnoj Školi "Petar Petrović Njegoš" u Zrenjaninu, 15.10.2019. održana je prezentacija EPALE platforme. S obzirom da se u školi obrazuju i lica koja pohađaju program funkcionalnog osnovnog obrazovanja odraslih (FOOO), prezentaciji su prisutvovale kolege koje rade u obrazovanju odraslih. Potrudio sam se da kolegama približim mogućnosti koje platforma sadrži i na koji način bi mogli da je koriste u svom radu. Takođe, upoznao sam ih i sa iskustvom koje sam imao prilikom učešća na centralnoj konferenciji EPALE platforme održanoj u Varšavi.

A tanulás témakörében született tanulmányok javarészt a szervezeteken belüli, illetve a szervezetek közötti tudásátadásra koncentrálnak, a hálózati tanulás kevésbé kutatott terület. Eme szakirodalmi összefoglaló olyan hazai és nemzetközi kutatásokat vizsgál az utóbbi évekből, amelyek nemcsak szervezeti, hanem szervezetközi és hálózati szinten is elemezték a tanulás jelenségét.

Following the EPALE UK and L&WI (EAAL) Annual Conference 2019, we are now publishing the workshop and plenary session presentations in pdf format for users and delegates to enjoy. The presentations focus on individual nations as well as the UK as a whole, with workshops considering impications for policy and practice.
