Educazione in carcere

Il CPIA di Terni ha messo a punto, presso la casa circondariale di Terni, il progetto PiantiAMOla. Si è trattato di un’attività di grande valore che ha puntato direttamente alla formazione dei detenuti, unendo il carattere pratico con l’aspetto teorico. Sono stati coinvolti nel progetto 12 detenuti protetti, che sono stati impegnati nella realizzazione di coltivazioni in serra all’interno della stessa struttura detentiva.

De pedagogische begeleidingsdiensten en Vocvo ondersteunen in Vlaanderen de lesgevers aan gedetineerden. In 2019 en 2020 wordt ingezet op netwerking tussen collega’s die in de gevangenis werken. Er zal een uitwisselplatform voor materialen die in de gevangeniscontext bruikbaar zijn worden geactiveerd. En de infobrief voor lesgevers aan gedetineerden zal op regelmatige basis verschijnen. 

This PowerPoint is from the 17th EPEA (European Prison Education Association) Conference, which took place in Dublin 12-16th of June. In it Alan Smith explores the EU's interaction with prison education throughout its existence, as well as gathering together links to relevant EU policy, reports and actions. 

Working as a prison educator can be an extremely rewarding career – teachers can work with vulnerable individuals who are keen to improve their prospects when released and who have diverse opinions that facilitate meaningful debate. A smaller class size also allows the teacher to target individuals that need support the most and provides greater opportunity to build rapport with learners. Although working in a prison is a challenge that requires resilient staff, FE teachers should consider the benefits of pursuing a career as a prison educator.

The MOBi project is a partnership of eight organizations present in five different EU countries. The project’s aim is to deliver a multi-modal approach that brings together the CJS, the civil society and (ex)offenders. It is meant to make us think about our own impact on (ex) offenders’ lives and their reintegration process not only as individuals, but also as a society. In this article we will be talking about Intellectual Output 1 (IO1) which consists of an Assessment Tool to screen society’s perceptions on (ex) offenders needs and CJS function and Intellectual Output 2 (IO2) which is focused on creating an Assessment Tool to screen offender’s perceptions on society’s acceptance regarding reintegration process.

17th International EPEA Training Conference: Past, Present & Future Education in Prison

The European Prison Education Association (EPEA) , together with its Irish branch, the Irish Prison Education Association, are holding its 17th International Training Conference taking place in Technological University (TU) Dublin between June 12th and 16th. 

Attraverso questo accordo, frutto di una sempre più fruttuosa collaborazione interistituzionale con il Provveditorato Regionale del Piemonte, Liguria e Valle d’Aosta, si intende pertanto promuovere, all’interno dei contesti carcerari, forme condivise e integrate di intervento volte a sostenere e potenziare i percorsi di istruzione e formazione in favore delle persone detenute presso gli istituti penitenziari della Liguria.

Escuela, sí, así es como se conoce familiarmente, en muchos casos, a las unidades educativas que funcionan en los alrededor de 70 centros penitenciarios que existen actualmente en nuestro país. De hecho, se trata de centros de educación permanente o aulas adscritas a centros de educación de personas adultas, que desarrollan su acción educativa en el ámbito penitenciario.

Alumnado y profesorado de educación de persoas adultas del centro penitenciario Nelson Mandela de A Lama (Pontevedra) ha elaborado una colección de recetas de cocina de diferentes lugares y geografías (más de 30 países de cuatro continentes) que ha servido como cauce de encuentro, de intercambio cultural y de expresión entre las diversas culturas que conviven en este centro penitenciario.

There are plenty of opportunities to find voluntary roles that involve working with prisoners, both inside and outside of prisons. Those who work as engagement leads with volunteers may find this blog useful for suggesting different types of voluntary projects to get involved with. From counselling prisoners to applying creative skills, there is something for everyone. Prisoners are some of the most vulnerable people in society, making voluntary roles with them both challenging and highly rewarding. 

The Hardman Trust have now released their 2019-2020 directory and it is free to download for both prisoners and prison staff from their website. The Harman Directory is a free practical guide that helps prisoners and those recently released from prison to find supplementary support and other kinds of financial support.

Viena vertus, jie, kaip ir kiti piliečiai, turi teisę į mokymąsi, ir juos, kaip ir kitus visuomenės narius, šviečia tie patys suaugusiųjų pedagogai – andragogai. Kita vertus, dėl tam tikrų išorinių apribojimų, dėl specifinių psichosocialinių aplinkybių suaugusiųjų mokymas laisvės atėmimo įstaigose yra pakankamai specifiškas, kreipiantis andragogus įgyti papildomų kompetencijų.

"Paso a nivel" es un material para la educación secundaria de personas adultas elaborado por el profesorado del centro EPA de Monterroso: Rosa María Andrés Losada, Pedro Francisco Cantero Soto y Manuel Sánchez de Carrera. Se centra en los contenidos del nivel I de la Educación Secundaria de Adultos (ESA), tomando siempre como punto de partida aspectos relacionados con la educación viaria.

Este proyecto muestra el potencial educativo de acciones relacionadas con el medio ambiente e integradas de manera transversal en el currículo de las enseñanzas impartidas en un Centro de Educación de Personas Adultas dentro de un centro penitenciario, y encaminadas a conectar la actividad de los internos con la realidad exterior. La experiencia del CEPA Berria destaca por su labor coordinada con la participación de la escuela, el centro penitenciario y las diferentes instituciones, entidades y asociaciones en relación con el entorno natural. Nos lo resume su directora Maite Porras:

Aiming at supplying jobs to disadvantaged groups in Samsun, as Canik Public Education Center we gave a vocational course on painting to the 20 women Roman citizens living in the suburbs of Canik. We gave the same to 20 prisoners in the ateliers of the prison. Those who participated are now able to run their own business or work in public institutions. We noticed that the women in question had more self-confidence and are now able to compete with men in the sector.

Klasbak vzw is de Vlaamse afdeling van de European Prison Education Association (EPEA),een netwerkorganisatie en expertisecentrum voor personen en organisaties die het leren van (ex-)gedetineerden ondersteunen. De leden van Klasbak zijn onder meer lesgevers en vrijwilligers in de gevangenis, Centra voor Basiseducatie (CBE), Centra voor volwassenenonderwijs (CVO) en academici. In een memorandum wil Klasbak beleidsmakers en iedere geïnteresseerde van inzicht voorzien in maatschappelijk relevante thema's over leren in detentie.
