Proforal is a Belgian association with about 25 years of experience working in the field of adult education (French as a Second Language, alphabetization, basic training and pre-training) and specifically for the training of French as a Second Language’s trainers and teachers (FLE: Français Langue Etrangère). To this extent, Proforal manages the project Bruxelles FLE, www.bruxellesfle.be , which main activities are:
- The development of programs of educational support in French as a Second Language, such as the APOLPA Program. APOLPA (Appui Pédagogique pour les Operateurs Languistiques du Parcours d’Accueil) provides educational support to FLE teachers working in the Region of Brussels Capital’s reception process for newly arrived migrants.
- The partnership with the University of Louvain La Neuve (UCL) in the framework of the Teaching Certificate in French as a Second language.
- The management of the website www.bruxellesfle.bea platform devoted to the exchange of practices and information about the teaching of French as a Foreign and Second Language in Brussels.
- The participation in European projects aiming at the development of staff competences through EU mobility, the creation of educational tools (as for the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership FOCAALE), as well as for the dissemination of innovative pedagogical practices for nonnative adult speakers.
