Vuonna 1995 Suomesta tuli Euroopan unionin täysivaltainen jäsenmaa. Samana vuonna Suomi liittyi eurooppalaiseen koulutustiedotuksen ja neuvonnan verkostoon. Silloisen opetusministeriön päätöksellä Kansainvälisen henkilövaihdon keskus CIMO nimettiin Suomen kansalliseksi ohjausalan resurssikeskukseksi. 2000-luvun alussa verkosto sai nimekseen Euroguidance. Vuodesta 2017 lähtien Opetushallitus on toiminut Suomen kansallisena Euroguidance-keskuksena.

A growing body of evidence supports the contention of scholarly culture theory that immersing children in book-oriented environments benefits their later educational achievement, attainment and occupational standing. These findings have been interpreted as suggesting that book-oriented socialization, indicated by home library size, equips youth with life-long tastes, skills and knowledge. Trainings and courses on skill development are ineffective without working on people mindset. Ultimately the mindset influences everything from creative risk-taking, to how a person views feedback to whether or not a person finalizes difficult tasks. It is actually one of the greatest factors in determining whether or not one grows and improves abilities. Having the right mindset is the key to overcoming eventual damage (low self-esteem, lack of confidence, motivation, doubts in personal qualifications) from unemployment.
