Language and integration courses are the first steps in an integration process with the new society for migrants. Therefore, promotion and implementation of sustainable development (SD) among these groups can support, not only the acquirement of the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary to shape a sustainable future, but also to better support integration with the society. Implementation of a SD approach in language teaching can have a positive impact on the development of critical thinking, social and civic competences, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship as well as cultural awareness and expression and making decisions in a collaborative way. Within the Project “Integration Through Sustainable Lifestyle” (IN-Life) the language teaching materials with a strong focus on sustainable development are developed. These materials should help newcomers acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for a sustainable life-style, for example saving energy at home, recycling products and protecting the environment. They can be used for both teaching and self-learning processes.
The materials are available in four languages: English, German, French and Italian on the learning platform https://learn.in-life.eu/. In order to access the platform please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
