Qualifica Program publicly presented

Qualify 50% of the active population with secondary education; achieve a 15% rate of adult participation in learning activities throughout life; contribute to achieving a target of 40% of higher education graduates (aged between 30-34 years); and expand the network Qualifica centers were some of the goals presented by the Portuguese Government on 17 August, apropos  of Qualifica Program, days before the publication of the decree regulating the establishment and organization system and operation of Qualifica centers (Decree No o 232/2016 of 29 August).

In the presentation ceremony, which was attended by the Secretaries of State for Education and Employment and of the Director of the National Agency for Qualification and Vocational Education (ANQEP), was reminded of the need to reverse the trend seen in recent years (disinvestment in adult education) and underlined the benefits of increased qualifications, particularly in terms of improving employability and wage gains.

The Qualifica Program is intended for people over 18 years and, exceptionally, to young adults who do not study or work (NEET young people), being the Qualifica centers one of its main instruments.
