Learning in Later Life- Theory, Policy and Practice

There is an Annual Conference each autumn. It aims to attract older people, academics, professionals and practitioners. Normally it is one- day and non-residential but every four or five years AEA aims to hold an international residential conference.

The Conference celebrates the completion of 30 years of AEA's mission to promote the importance of learning in later life. The Conference also marks the completion of the ForAge network Project and explores the ongoing work which sustains its achievements.

In the last few weeks, our partnership has launched Active 80+ Trainings in Austria, Italy, Germany, Lithuania and the Netherlands. More than 64 very old people and people working with the very old are currently participating in these pilot trainings.

What is the Active 80+ Training about?

The idea of the Active 80+ Training is that volunteers and staff members of relevant organizations promote learning and active citizenship of very old people who will be supported to realize their ideas.
