What are the beliefs, assumptions, stressful thoughts and fears that hold you back and cause stress in your life, work, relationships? Where are you stuck in old patterns that are not serving you?

In spite of the positive evolutions seen in Romania over the last 10 years in point of social inclusion of older people, the rate of elderly persons exposed to the risk or poverty or experiencing severe economic deprivation remains one of the highest in the European Union. The overall positive trends in Romania actually camouflage the substantial gaps existing among various categories of older people, depending on their employment status.

Este nuevo informe sobre el abandono educativo temprano muestra que, en conjunto, los Estados Miembros se están acercando al objetivo de la UE de que para 2020 la tasa de abandono educativo temprano se reduzca a menos del 10%. Sin embargo, esta tasa sigue siendo un serio desafío para muchos países de la UE. A pesar de que todos los países han puesto en marcha medidas para luchar contra este problema, solo unos pocos han desarrollado por ahora una estrategia que integre medidas de prevención, de intervención y de compensación.

This Study is one of the products of My Compass Project with the main focus on identifying the needs of the target groups in the partner countries, regarding key competencies integration in minor/juvenile offender’s education, unsolved training needs at detention/correction system level, with focus on VET offers and the characteristics of the existing European innovations on the issue of key competency based VET education and main players which could be involved in the project.
The study is very innovative and a power instrument, because of the reasons:

The acquisition of adults’ basic education and general upper secondary education may be carried out in non-stationary form of study in general education schools for adults (upper secondary schools for adults) or in specific departments established in general education schools for the young. General education is free of charge for learners.

Navezuje se na mnoga prednostna področja prenovljenega Evropskega programa za učenje odraslih za obdobje 2012-2014 s posebnim poudarkom na predstavitvi skupnostnega učenja.

Im Rahmen eines halbtägigen Workshops (4 Stunden) setzen sich kommunale Beschäftigte mit dem Thema Funktionaler Analphabetismus auseinander. Sie erwerben Hintergrundwissen und lernen, Menschen mit großen Lese- und Schreibschwierigkeiten zu erkennen, anzusprechen und zu informieren. Das Konzept wurde im Rahmen des DVV-Projektes AlphaKommunal entwickelt, erprobt und evaluiert und ist auf andere Kommunen in Europa übertragbar.

Internationalität gehören zu den Merkmalen der neuen Bildungsformate. Die Chancen und Herausforderungen der neuen Ansätze lassen sich für viele ErwachsenenbildnerInnen noch schwer abschätzen.

She tried different sorts of work experience without much success so she took a month's training at the school of 2nd chance co funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund. It enabled her to get a professional diploma and find the apprenticeship she really wanted at a local at a local garden centre.

Upskilling Unemployed Adults

On 25 June 2015, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission will be hosting a Thematic Event under the umbrella of the Mutual Learning Programme, addressing learning for unemployed adults. It will focus on the challenges and opportunities to increase skills for long-term unemployed, unskilled adults and disadvantaged groups.

Background materials will be sent out to participants one week before the event. These papers will be in English. Key documents will also be published on the website after the event.

The right to education for all has been established by a number of European and International conventions. In Europe, the right of prisoners to access and participate in educational opportunities while in prison has been supported by a number of policy documents such as the European Prison Rules (updated in 2006) and the Council of Europe’s Education in Prison (1990) document.

Basic skills of prisoners tend to be below the average qualification level. DVV International compiled examples of good practice in prison education in Europe and other parts of the world. The brochure contains an article on the use of the literacy platform ich-will-lernen.de in German prisons as well as further case studies of prison education in South East Europe, Central Asia, North Africa and South America.

Studiul este destinat susţinerii activităţii de dezvoltare a serviciilor de bibliotecă publică existente şi implementării unor noi servicii, în funcţie de necesităţile publicului ţintă, care e format din adulţi cu vârsta cuprinsă între 41 şi 60 de ani. Dat fiind specificul de grup activ al acestei categorii de public, importanţa serviciilor furnizate de către bibliotecile publice este determinantă pentru susţinerea rolurilor specifice ale acestei organizaţii în contextul socio-cultural în care se manifestă.
