Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Erasmus+ has opportunities for people of all ages, helping them develop and share knowledge and experience at institutions and organisations in different countries.
Europe is „united in diversity“, as the mission statement of the European Union declares. Thanks to the Erasmus+ project, we, Celine and Tobias from Austria, can feel this European ideal, which we are taught in theory in our school, the HAK 1 International in Klagenfurt, practically up close. We have been working for ShipCon here in Limassol, Cyprus for two weeks and we are not only interacting with many different people from all over Europe, but also learning how to work in an intercultural environment. Next to working with these people, we also live together, here we get to experience many cultural differences as well as similarities.
As an Erasmus+ intern, you have the opportunity to get to know the country in a much closer way than tourists ever could. You live a normal day-to-day life here, while going for a swim after work in one of the world’s most beautiful seas. During the excursions, you will not only see the beautiful landscapes, beaches and towns of Cyprus, but you will also have the opportunity to get to know the culture and people of the country.
