The Westminster Business Forum will be holding the Disability in the Workplace seminar in London on Tuesday 21 January 2020. The main aims of the event are to discuss ways to remove barriers to recruitment and progression, create inclusive workplace cultures and to consider next steps for addressing related policy and organisational practice.

The seminar will explore ways to support more disabled people into work and also to retain disabled workers already in employment. The roles of the government and employers will form an important part of the event’s focus. Reducing barriers, such as statutory sick pay reform, supporting best practice for inclusive recruitment, addressing concerns about policy targets and discussing the effectiveness of programmes including Disability Confident and Access to Work, will also form part of the events focus.
 

Keynote speakers include:

  • Tabitha Jay Director for the Joint Work and Health Unit, the Department for Work and Pensions, and the Department of Health and Social Care
  • Neil HislopChief Executive for Leonard Leisure
  • Gareth Parry Chief Executive for Remploy
     

Case studies will also be explored at the seminar, including those that champion creating inclusive workplace cultures and normalising disabilities. The event is CPD certified.
 

Refreshments will be provided during registration and there will be a coffee break in the middle of the event.
