Barró is a non-profit organization founded in 1994. Barró is a social and educative association which works in the social field. Its aim is to create a social and educatival space, of personal and community development for people in social exclusion risk or vulnerable to marginalization or social exclusion. We network with different associations, social services, etc. Barró has been awarded with different prizes for social inclusion and commitment.
The participants in our activities are groups of people in disadvantage social situation with the following groups of population: infancy and youth, adults, ethnic minorities (Roma) and migrants.
We have the following objectives in the different programs we carry out:
-To support and encourage socio-educational processes that generate community development; attending to educational, cultural, economics and gender inequalities, favouring social cohabitation.
-To promote personal and social development of the participants in the projects.
-To encourage networking with other platforms and groups who work in the same environment.
-To encourage a place to promote an intercultural exchange and to attend new situations generated by the phenomenon of immigration, to prevent racist attitudes and social conflicts.
-To promote in our work a gender perspective to progress in gender inequality.
