Some of us probably are, but others aren't. Adults exposed to social exclusion and adults with low skills are unlikely to be prepared for the demands of today's world. This is why "Our Digi Space" was created - to improve the quality of life of these adults through the promotion of digital literacy.
In this sense, "Our Digi Space" that is a project funded by the European Commission, promoted by the Erasmus + program (Key Action 2) and coordinated by the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Lifelong Learning (Turkey) has a beneficial impact in two groups who often interrelate. On one hand, adults with economic, social and/or learning limitations have the opportunity to develop skills that can help them perform daily tasks such as using ATMs, e-mail and many other similar tasks that are often a daily challenge for them. On the other hand, adult educators can broaden their domain of knowledge and integrate gamification and e-learning practices into their teaching methods.
Ultimately, the project intends to use an interactive online platform and an app as educational vehicles while the gamification aspect relates to the "playful" nature that was consciously chosen to captivate the target group who is usually intimidated by the supposed difficulty the acquisition of these skills require.
Therefore, Kerigma - Barcelos Institute for Innovation and Social Development in collaboration with other European entities from Turkey, Greece and Lithuania will hold several workshops with adults and adult educators during the months of October, November and December in order to identify the real difficulties of our target audience and thus shape “Our Digi Space” to their realities.
Until then, you can follow the project through our social media.
