Refugees' labour market integration: challenges and initiatives to maximise potential

The conference will focus on the employment of refugees and other beneficiaries of international protection. Having a job will ease social integration, diminish reliance on social benefits and increase the possibility to find decent housing. Employed refugees will contribute to the social security system and their increased spending on consumer goods will be beneficial to the economy as a whole.

The current Offender Learning and Skills Service (OLASS) phase 4 contracts for prison education come to an end in July 2016. The Minister will need to decide whether to extend the current contracts for a further year, or to begin re-procurement.

The Prisoner Learning Alliance (PLA) welcomes the the successes of OLASS 4, in particular the increase in the numbers of prisoners achieving entry level, level 1 and level 2 qualifications, including in literacy and numeracy.

Cette analyse d'avril 2015 par la DARES (Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi, de la Formation professionnelle et du Dialogue Social) propose une vue d'ensemble de la situation des demandeurs d'emploi en formation, qui est restée relativement stable en 2013 comparée à l'année précédente. Quelques 643 000 personnes ont commencé une formation, financée majoritairement par les régions et visant principalement les jeunes qui accèdent en moyenne trois fois plus à la formation que leurs pairs plus âgés.

Government agencies and NGOs that have made an outstanding contribution to literacy were today presented with awards.

The awards were given at UNESCO’s annual awards ceremony to highlight organisations that have helped to promote the importance of literacy.

The five laureates of this year’s UNESCO International Literacy Prizes include organisations from in Chile, Madagascar, Mozambique, Slovakia and Sri Lanka.

Срещата ще е посветена на пренастройката на образователната система в професионалните училища според изискванията на бизнеса. Това беше коментирано на среща между кмета на града Иван Тотев и министъра на образованието и науката Тодор Танев.

Срещата се очаква да се проведе между 15 и 20 септември.
