When Marty McFly returned back to the future…the clock rolled uncontrollably and eventually came to a halt – the date shown was 21 October 2015. Never could he have expected the ill fate awaiting his graduate son.

Cedefop research shows that 29% of the EU adult population suffers from qualification mismatches, mostly as overqualification. Cedefop expert @K_Pouliakas notes that 'about a quarter of tertiary education graduates work in jobs below their qualification level; this is a waste of public resources and a taint on the value of further education.'

Alessandra Santoianni is a project officer and trainer for the Grenoble branch of CEMEA – a vocational education and training provider and promoter of progressive education. We asked Alessandra to tell us more about SAMIN, an international project she was involved in, dealing with helping migrants in VET.

Češi mají motivaci vzdělávat se po celý život. Potvrzují to nejenom statistiky Ministerstva školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy, ale také nabídka nejrůznějších kurzů. Nejmarkantněji je to vidět na internetu.

This report presents the main findings and general recommendations of the 2015 SOLIDAR Foundation Education and Lifelong Learning Watch. Based on an extensive consultation with SOLIDAR members and partners, this initiative evaluates progress towards the achievement of the educational objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy and Education and Training 2020 strategic framework for Member States.

A European Erasmus+ Strategic partnership „Lifestyle Entrepreneurship“ (No.2015-LT01-KA2014-013404) project focuses on adult education and employment in Europe. The project seeks to strengthen the competencies of adult educators supplying them with innovative and attractive training material and ICT tools based on Lifestyle entrepreneurship (LSE) approach and to develop Open education recourses (OER tailored to the needs of adult educators.

Le président de la république Française, François Hollande, a annoncé le 18 janvier les orientations du plan d'urgence pour l'emploi et notamment  la mise en place de 500 000 formations supplémentaires à destination des personnes en recherche d'emploi. La formation reste un levier important pour lutter contre le chômage et insérer durablement les personnes en emploi.

Competence 2016 Wageningen - International conference on competence theory, research and practice

The field of competence studies has grown exponentially. It has gained wide interest in all sectors of education, in various types of organizations, in research and in consultancy. Competence-based education, training and development, competence management and core-competence strategy have been blossoming since the 1960s.

Vláda projednala materiál, mapující průběžné plnění opatření, která mají pomoci řešit problémy na trhu práce v ČR. Jednotlivá opatření pomáhají především se zvyšováním efektivity podpory vytváření nových pracovních míst, upravují systém rekvalifikací a týkají se také rozšíření oblastí, kam se mohou poskytovat investiční pobídky.

V Črnomlju je bil 5. februarja 2016 strokovni posvet na temo Izobraževanje odraslih v Beli krajini v prihodnje, in sicer v sklopu praznovanja občinskega praznika. As such the SAMINVET capacity building model aims to support practitioners to develop skills and competencies which underpin these strategies. The manual identifies key activities which should be carried out as part of best practice under each of the tactics listed in the Methodological Handbook. These activities have then been matched against skills and competences which will be developed by carrying out the activities.
