Tales2Share – How It All Began

‘I am Svetlana and I came to Poland with my family in 2022, my two daughters and three grandchildren. Their husbands stayed in Kyiv to fight for our country. The journey to Poland was dangerous, and we stayed for five days in the basement of an old building. The decision was not easy. Leaving your homeland breaks your heart. We need to build our lives here now; we have to learn Polish to communicate with other people and to find a job. For children, this is not difficult, but for me, at the age of 60, it is hard. Here we have some other friends from Ukraine, but we also want to be friends with the local people.’
The above story-testimonial marks the beginning of this proposal, and its motive is to break boundaries and bring people together by sharing their stories to build a new society, a new Europe.
Based on the above, the TALES2SHARE project aims:
To promote access and participation of elderly women (natives, migrant women, and women from war or conflict-affected or high-risk regions), targeted to their needs, LLL opportunities
To develop and launch the TALES2SHARE HUBs as an initiative that promotes the EU values, civic engagement, respect, and democracy through storytelling, where native and migrant women will share their experiences, challenges, and difficulties while breaking down barriers.
To equip older women with personal, social, and civic competences, including language learning (e.g., storytelling), transversal skills (e.g., creativity), and digital skills.
To upgrade the competencies and practices of Adult Educators with innovative, participatory, and creative methods, such as digital storytelling, thus promoting digital transformation and modernisation of their practices, as well as the overall quality of the Adult Sector.
To validate the newly acquired skills based on MICRO-CREDENTIALS, promoting transparency, transferability, and visibility
To promote transnational collaboration and the exchange of good practices to address common issues of the inclusion of migrant people in hosting communities.
