Migrations and cinema in Europe

On Friday, 3 June 2016, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing held the final conference of the project Erasmus + KA2 "Lighthouses and Stations. Trip to Ithaca."

The project is coordinated by I.E.S “Campo de San Alberto” from Spain and project partners come from Portugal, Greece, Croatia and Slovenia. The Slovene partner in the project is Zavod za izobraževanje in kulturo (Institute for Education and Culture) Črnomelj

The basic topics of the project are migrations, cinematography and employment in Europe in connection with curricula (in the fields of languages, literature, history, geography, science, maths) and key competences.

Within the project, participants from Slovenia made the following documentary films: At home in Bela krajina,,

Belokranjska pogača,,

Koza piš,,

and a short film Zemljokrast,

Each partner country made a documentary on the topic of migrations:  

Spain - Crossing the border,

Croatia - Crab's children,

Portugal - Life stamps,

Greece - Second chance.

The pedagogical guide "Cinema and Migration" is also quality contribution to the material in the area of film culture

A renowned Slovene film director Maja Weiss also participated at the round table at the conference. The guests were addressed on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Zagreb by Marko Rakovec, Ph.D.
