We are an adult education provider looking for an organisation for job-shadowing for Programme managers and Guidance staff. We are interested in an exchange, with up to 5 staff participating in the exchange.
We are a dynamic adult education service offering second chance learning opportunities to approximately 10,000 learners per year in adult education centres and on an outreach basis. We are part of Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB), which provides a variety of educational services across Cavan and Monaghan (North East counties in Ireland). CMETB Adult Education Services are continually growing and developing. Our service provides education, training and support to more than 10,000 learners annually. Our courses range from hobby programmes, Refugee Resettlement programmes, ESOL, basic skills (literacy) courses, practical courses, prison education, employment focused courses, courses for learners with disabilities and courses focusing on progression to FET and HET. We work closely with a range of State agencies, voluntary and community groups, men's sheds, women’s groups, disability groups etc. Our interagency work is paramount to our success.
We also offer a free and confidential Adult Education Guidance and Information service (AEGIS). This helps people to identify their interests and choose a programme which will suit and ultimately benefit them. It also allows us to gauge what learners want and to respond to this by finding the course for them or working alongside programme managers to develop new courses.
We are interested in finding out about the approaches taken when working with adult learners and similar target groups in other parts of Europe. We have 10 KA104 mobilities valid until 31/5/2021, and we hope to use 5 of those mobilities for job-shadowing.
