The Digital Teaching Professional Framework has been created by the Education and Teaching Foundation (ETF) in partnership with JISC, with the aim of increasing understanding of how teachers and trainers can use digital technologies to enrich their teaching and for their own professional development.
The Framework is aimed at teachers and trainers across all sectors of further education to include workplace, community and prison environments. It has been created in line with the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators.
Seven elements make up the framework, with 3 set stages for each: Exploring; Adapting; Leading. The seven elements are:
Planning your teaching
Approaches to teaching
Supporting learners to develop employability skills
Subject-specific and industry-specific teaching
Accessibility and inclusion
Free online, bite-size training modules will be used to support the framework and shall be available on the ‘Enhance Digital Teaching Platform’ to be launched in early 2019, which will also include a CPD dashboard.
For further information and to download the framework in either a short of full version, please visit the Framework webpage.
