Understanding the impact of outreach on access to higher education for adult learners from disadvantaged backgrounds: an institutional response

Teanga: EN

Postáilte ag Christine Bertram

OFFA, the Office for Fair Access, commissioned a piece of reserach  to explore approaches to outreach for mature learners with low or no prior qualifications. The research project team consisted of the Open University together with Birkbeck University of London, the University of Leeds and the University of Bristol.

The project has now finished and OFFA has published the following outputs:

  • a report, which draws on five case studies of specific approaches to outreach for disadvantaged adult learners, and
  • a three-step evaluation tool, which universities and colleges can use to inform the development of their outreach for adult learners.

The evaluation tool is intended for HE and FE institutions to inform their institutional strategies for fair access and to support the ongoing development and delivery of these activities.
