INTERNATIONAL PROJECT: Development of Key Competeces of Unemployed Adults

INTERNATIONAL ERASMUS+ GRANT PROJECT

 

Consumer Defence Association of Moravia and Silesia (Sdružení obrany spotřebitelů Moravy a Slezska, z.s) is involved in the project under the Slovak Consumer Organization (Asociácia spotrebiteľských subjektov Slovenska) led by the president of the organization, Mgr. Božena Stašenková, PhD. It is a project within the Erasmus+ grant projects, Development of key competences of adults through innovative consumer education programs. There are 3 other organizations in addition to our and the Slovak organization – the Italian organization Federconsumatori, Greek organization Union of Working Consumers of Greece (EEKE) and Lithuanian organization Lietuvos Nacionaline Vartotoju Federacija (LNCF).

 

This international project focuses on European partnerships of formal and informal educational institutions and consumer organizations, using real-life problems and an informal approach, a methodology based on the experience of consumer advice and participation in the European Diary and Consumer Classroom, promoting consumer teaching by developing and implementing an innovative methodology for students of every age. It also contains the development of case studies and lessons based on case studies and the development of key competences set up under the European Framework for Key Competences, the creation of teaching aids and resources to support teachers in the adoption of interactive methods, cooperation of formal and informal institutions to accredit young people that left school in order to help them to improve their skills or to deepen their education.

The main activities of this project are to launch partner organization meetings, develop an analysis (the most important consumer issues through consumer counseling research in partner countries), design studies based on partner research in partner organizations and a two-day conference and workshop in partner organizations (study analysis and tool to explore key competencies that need to be improved, didactic tools). Other activities include the creation of a manual (how to implement the study, use the learning modules and teaching to develop key competencies), international events (group of respondents - open discussion, group analysis of learning modules and lessons, creating a list of threats and weaknesses) and rebuilding the manual into accredited program for young people who leave school. Among other things, activities include sharing project results through the website and creating a final report.

The final outcomes of the project should be an analysis needs report, a manual on how to implement a study to develop key competencies for students of all ages, an accredited program for young people who have left school and a website with all the products created during the project activities.

The priority of this project is to improve and expand the offer of quality educational opportunities tailored to the needs of individual low-skilled adults. Also, the development and extension of teachers' competences - underprivileged adults need support programs to further pursue their education. To support their abilities and motivation to continue their studies, we offer an innovative consumer education program based on their daily lives.
