The article is an evaluation report of the initiative called Inspiring Change undertaken in Scottish Prisons in 2010. The project involved 200 prisoners and its aim was to increase their literacy and show the potential of arts in the process of resocialization. The article focuses on the question whether arts projects in prisons can inspire desistance from crime.

The article was published in the Dutch magazine Justitiele verkenningen.
