The mastery of certain IT tools as well as the desire to continue doing the work she loves (and she loves doing together!) have pushed Sara's colleagues to try to adapt their offer in the face of the emergency situation and to use it as an opportunity to acquire new skills. This experience has taught them a lot and has "forced" them to use new tools. It was certainly a triumph and a continuous learning process that allowed them to continue to carry out the mission of their association despite the current situation.

She has a convivial spirit, she likes to share ideas and talk. She misses her co-workers and the excitement. Най-важната част от професионалното развитие на учителите са дейностите, осъществявани в самата институция. Освен че подобряват работата на учителите, дейностите по професионално развитие на учителите насърчават екипната работа и сътрудничеството с колегите в различни области на учебния процес, от планирането до оценяването на преподаването, както и създаването на атмосфера на постоянни промени в рамките на институцията. Неразделна част от професионалното развитие обаче е тази, свързана с цифровите компетенции.

Celles-ci portaient sur des sujets tels que l'inclusion numérique, les obstacles à l'accès numérique, l'efficacité de l'enseignement à distance et la manière de remodeler l'enseignement pendant la période du Covid-19.

La Commission européenne organise une consultation publique sur le thème de l’éducation suite à la crise de la Covid-19 : enseigner, apprendre et utiliser les technologies dans un monde en constante évolution. Le but de cette consultation est de recueillir les avis des citoyens et autres acteurs de la société au sujet de l’avenir de la formation numérique durant la période de relance suite à la crise de la Covid-19, voire à plus long terme… Participez à la consultation publique du 18 juin au 4 septembre 2020 !

From the beginning, the Community Stories' goals have been to fully engage our community in telling their stories, get to know their colleagues from all over Europe, and share the issues that were affecting their everyday life and that were challenging their education activities. We have received dozens of stories in a short space of time. This confirms our community’s will – or need – to get through this crisis together, sharing their solutions and being an inspiration to each other. We have collected 78 stories from 28 countries... so far.

Η συνδεσιμότητα, η κοινωνική συμπερίληψη και η ψηφιακή ένταξη αποτελούν έννοιες στένα συνυφασμένες με τη σημερινή διαδικτυακή κοινωνία και τους ενήλικες μεγαλύτερης ηλικίας. Όλοι οι επαγγελματίες, οι εκπαιδευτές που εμπλέκονται στην εκπαίδευση  και τη μάθηση των ενηλίκων μεγαλύτερης ηλικίας, έχουν την ευθύνη να συμβάλουν στη μείωση του ψηφιακού χάσματος στις κοινωνίες μας. Το ψηφιακό χάσμα διχάζει γενιές και δυστυχώς γίνεται όλο και πιο ευρύ. Οι εκπαιδευόμενοι μεγαλύτερης ηλικίας δεν βλέπουν πραγματικά τα πλεονεκτήματα της ψηφιακής εκπαίδευσης. Αναμφίβολα η δια ζώσης συζήτηση εξακολουθεί να είναι η καλύτερη μέθοδοσ στην εκπαίδευση ενηλίκων μεγαλύτερης ηλικίας για την κάλυψη των ψυχοκοινωνικών αναγκών των περισσοτέρων μαθητευομένων μεγαλύτερης ηλικίας.

Trish is supporting her healthcare students in a numbers of ways – by telephone, by email, by post, on platforms such as Zoom and WhatsApp. Once or twice she has also met students outside for a socially distant walk to chat face to face to talk about their assignments and the work they were doing. Her learners are responding very well and creatively to this new way of doing things.

Connectivity, social inclusion and digital inclusion are close concepts relating to the today’s networked society and older people. All professionals, educators involved in older adult education and learning included have responsibility to contribute to reducing the digital divide in our societies. The digital divide separates generations and unfortunately is getting ever wider. Older learners do not really see the benefits of digital education. Undoubtedly face-to-face discussion is still the best method in older adult education meeting most of the older learners' psycho social needs.
