Self-isolation measures, social distancing, restrictions on movement, home-schooling and working from home are just some of the changes we have seen in our everyday routines. In Ivana's family, they have been able to organise their daily responsibilities relatively well. They centred the daily routine around the work schedules and personal commitments, which proved to work well for everyone.

Today almost all students have access to a phone. So what have been some of the greatest challenges in moving Gloria's curriculum online? One is that the most marginalised pupils might not have access to any electronic device at all. So straightaway they are excluded from digital learning. Consequently, we must adapt to the age of technology that we are in.

It has now become clear as day that the world can stop rapidly and restart just as quickly. Slovenia has declared the end of the epidemic. We are aware that the virus is still among us, which is why we are being careful both in our personal and professional lives as well as in organising events.

This report considers the science of adult literacy acquisition, with the goal of identifying principles that may improve the effectiveness of adult literacy programs. We define literacy as a continuum, from emerging literacy, through improving literacy, to fluent literacy and we outline the factors that influence how far along that continuum an adult learner is likely to proceed. Four nested levels are identified at which obstacles to literacy progress operate, but to which adult learners may also bring strengths.

Life-long learning competencies, skills and attitudes are of having significance for education processes. The study was designed based on the correlational survey model. Population consists of 354 trainers in Public Education Centers in Samsun. In terms gender, there was a significant difference in lack of regulation and lack of curiosity dimension in favour of females in terms of lifelong learning tendencies. It was found that as the age level increases, the tendency to persistence which is the sub-factor of lifelong tendencies increases.

This survey paper examines selected issues related to the intersection of three broad scholarly areas: numeracy, adult education, and vulnerability. Numeracy encompasses the ways in which people cope with the mathematical, quantitative, and statistical demands of adult life, and is viewed as an important outcome of schooling and as a foundational skill for all adults. The focus on vulnerability stems from the realization that concerns of policy makers and educators alike often center on populations seen as vulnerable. The paper is organized in fve sections.

The digital transformation, understood as the effects of digitization on society, is char- acterized by great ambivalence. On the one hand, there are great hopes for innovation and an improvement in living conditions. But at the same time, it is also becoming apparent at the individual, corporate and state levels that people fear that they we will no longer be able to keep pace with these developments. This is not a phenomenon that can only be observed by older people.

First, Steve Reder is right. No one in the field of adult education is going to argue against Steve’s conception of skill needs across the length and breadth of adult life. And certainly no one is going to argue against the need for more resources over and above the perpetually starved federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) system to fund Steve’s conceptual framework.

In this forum, I argue that adult literacy education needs to be repositioned within a new framework of lifelong and life-wide learning, a framework in which new policies are formulated, programs are designed and evaluated, and research is funded and carried out. To appreciate how much this suggested framework differs from the neoliberal framework in which adult education is currently embedded, it is worth considering briefly how neoliberalism has gained its foothold in (some would say its stranglehold on) adult education.

Interest in older adult education (OAE) is intensifying for several reasons. The number of older adults in Canada is growing, increasing the proportion of older people in the population. Many older adults are now more active and want creative challenges, opportunities to learn, and chances to contribute to their community. In turn, cognitive and social activities, including educational activities, benefit the health and well‑being of older adults and their communities.

The purpose of this self-study guide is to help adult literacy education providers collect, organize, and analyze evidence that they can use to improve program performance. It was designed to help educators consider which types of evidence to collect and which components of adult education instruction may be important for evaluating implementation. Sources of evidence for this review include records and data such as lesson plans, rosters, and student results confirming that processes are in place to monitor teacher and student success.

Neoliberalism has been the prevailing economic ideology in the United States for the past four decades; and, as Stephen Reder alludes to in his article, A Lifelong and Life-Wide Framework for Adult Literacy Education, the core tenet of neoliberalism is a faith in “free markets” to address all social, political, and economic ills. Neoliberal doctrine promotes free trade, deregulation of business and industry, decreased government spending, and greater privatization of services, and it regards individuals first and foremost as economic actors (i.e., workers and consumers).

Historically, American education has functioned as the benefactor and disseminator of nature education, although that role has diminished in direct proportion to the diminutive presence of American natural landscapes. This withdrawal has led many to adulthoods typically devoid of a sense of place on the planet, as well as potentially limiting the ability to experience the sublime or mystical insights of life.
