One of those issues is the match between the supply of and demand for skills. Governments need a clearer picture, not only of how labour markets are changing, but of how wellequipped their citizens are to participate in, and benefit from, increasingly knowledge-based economies. The Survey of Adult Skills, a product of the OECD Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC), is providing that picture.

In the European Skills Agenda the European Commission proposed a Pact for Skills (to be officially launched in November during the 2020 European Vocational Skills Week). It is new engagement model for skills that will help meet COVID-19 challenges and deliver on the ambitions of the recovery pathway, the EU Industrial Strategy and the green and digital transition. Get involved by filling in the Stakeholders’ Survey. The survey will be open until 12 October 2020.
