This study examines how older adults learn to use tablet computers. Learning to use new technologies can help older adults to be included in today’s digital society. However, learning to use new technologies is not always easy, especially for older adults. This study focuses on how older adults learn to use a specific technology, tablet computers, and the role that social support plays in this process. Data for this project are from 21 in-depth interviews with individuals who own tablet computers. We examine how older adults engage with tablet devices and increase their digital literacy.

Notatki podsumowujące mój przegląd badań, jaki robiłem przed wystąpieniem na panelu dyskusyjnym w trakcie konferencji EPALE. W związku z tym, że tematem przewodnim była edukacja dorosłych w nowych warunkach, przejrzałem artykuły, które były publikowane w tym roku w czasopismach poświęconych temu zagadnieniu i wybrałem kilka z nich. Nie o wszystkim udało mi się powiedzieć na panelu, więc jest to lektura obowiązkowa dla osób, które chcą być na bieżąco!

The teaching-learning dyad has incurred significant changes of dynamics as a result of the emergence of the information sharing medium which is the online education environment. A considerable percentage of the learners who most need to increase the level of their basic skills will not seek the courses that are organised. For many potential learners in the target group one of the main reasons for this will be the lack of awareness of both their skill level and of the existing learning offer. The need for raised awareness can be met by carefully designed information campaigns which have the potential to attract the learner to individual guidance points, thus entering a process that may go through screening and testing, leading to adequate referral to quality learning provision.

Trainers Library je online platforma a komunita lidí, kteří se sami chtějí vzdělávat a získat nové úrovně kompetencí. Platforma vznikla v projektu Erasmus+ s názvem "Trainers Library", tedy knihovna trenérů (2017-3-DE04-KA205-015977).

Knihovna dává příležitost tvořit debatní fóra, otázky a odpovědi a rozličnou podporu komunit. Knihovna má potenciál vytvořit rozsáhlou komunitu učících se lidí, kteří chtějí inovovat, rozvíjet se a sdílet znalosti dále.

Projekt byl financován Německou Národní agenturou - Jugend für Europa. 

Platforma je v angličtině.

Dokument obsahuje řadu smysluplných cílů a opatření, má ale i svá rizika, například zavedení testování ve vybraných uzlových bodech

Vláda včera schválila klíčový dokument formulující cíle pro vzdělávací systém na další dekádu i náznaky cest k jejich dosažení. Projednaný dokument vychází z doporučení expertní skupiny pod vedením profesora Arnošta Veselého, která vloni v prosinci představila své Hlavní směry vzdělávací politiky 2030+.

"It was not only the students who had to get used to using digital tools. As a teacher, I was forced to learn how to use them for the first time because I had never taught online before. The first thing I had to figure out was which tool to use for the virtual lessons and then I had to learn how to teach online. To find out which tool to use, I attended meetings (coordination between school teachers is essential), I signed up to webinars, watched tutorials, read articles, and spent endless hours sat in front of the computer."
