Samantha Duncan, literacy tutor at City and Islington College met the poet and cultural activist, Roi Kwabena to discuss Re:vision, his poem, which was printed in NRDC's magazine reflect Issue 4 .

The resulting poem Re: vision was printed in NRDC's magazine reflect and was read by Roi at the National Skills for Life conference in London.

The poet talks about his poem in Issue 4.

The ESOL Effective Practice Project (EEPP) was conducted as part of the research agenda of the National Research and Development Centre for Adult Literacy and Numeracy (NRDC), which was set up under the UK Government’s Skills for Life Strategy.

The EEPP is one of a suite of five research projects that have the common aim of investigating the effective teaching of language, literacy, numeracy and ICT to adults.

Stichting Expertisecentrum ETV.nl, zoals de organisatie voluit heet, houdt zich in Nederland al elf jaar bezig met online leren voor laagopgeleiden. Sinds 2012 doen zij dat via de online leeromgeving Oefenen.nl.

This project examined government-supported apprenticeship in England, focussing on the experiences and perspectives of apprentices aged 25 and over and their employers. It also considered training, upskilling and reskilling of adult workers more generally.

The study consisted of a literature review and statistical mapping of government-supported apprenticeship in England, and case study research in five organisations.

Ergebnis: Über 900 ältere Menschen machen in Nordrhein-Westfalen Tanztheater, Schauspiel, Performances, Musiktheater oder Kabarett. Seniorentheater sind fester Bestandteil der Kulturszene und nicht Beschäftigung im Rahmen der sozialen Altenarbeit. Die Szene ist bunt und vielfältig und boomt.

Jetzt liegt die achte IW-Weiterbildungserhebung vor, an der sich 2014 1.845 Unternehmen beteiligten. Diese beschäftigen Ende 2013 insgesamt knapp 1,54 Millionen Arbeitskräfte, das sind rund fünf Prozent aller sozialversicherungspflichtig Beschäftigten in Deutschland.
