The Adult Literacies in Scotland 2020: Strategic Guidance (ALIS 2020) document sets out four overarching outcomes:

• improved access to literacies learning and opportunities

• high-quality learning and teaching

• improved infrastructure

• Evidence of impact.

It aims to promote equal access to and participation in literacies learning for all adults.

From March to May 2015 a survey was launched to designed to capture progress since the introduction of ALIS 2020 from 2010 – 2015.

NALA, Ireland's National Adult Literacy Agency (www.nala.ie) have published a new workbook for numeracy learners. 'Brushing Up is a maths workbook which introduces numeracy concepts at levels 1 and 2 of Ireland's National Framework of Qualifications (with learning outcomes equivalent to EQF level 1).

The workbook has sections on Quantity and Number and Shape and Space.  Learning activities include: using the numbers 0 to 10, and 0 to 100, and identifying and naming basic shapes.

L’association et plusieurs contributeurs bénévoles de l’encyclopédie proposent désormais un portail dédié aux enseignants et acteurs de l’éducation, consultable directement sur Wikipédia.

Auf dem deutschen Bildungsserver wurden Links zur kulturellen Bildung zusammengestellt. Unter den Rubriken „Kulturelle Bildung – Identität“, „Europäische Identität“ und „Integration“ sind Quellen für die Bildungsarbeit zu finden. Neben Unterrichtsmaterialien und Hintergrundinformationen sind auch Kursangebote zur kulturellen Bildung verlinkt.

Die Linkempfehlungen wurden in Heft 6/2015 der Fachzeitschrift Weiterbildung – Zeitschrift für Grundlagen, Praxis und Trends (S. 46-47) veröffentlicht.

Tai yra 2015 Jungtinėje karalystėje atlikta studija, kurioje atskleidžiamas suaugusiųjų poreikis gilinti savo skaitymo įgūdžius. 

Šioje studijoje atskleidžiama emocinė, socialinė ir psichologinė skaitymo bent 30 minučių per dieną savo malonumui nauda. Nuolatiniai skaitytojai nurodė šiuos naudingus dalykus:

Der Flüchtlingsrat der Europäischen Kommission, ECRE, vereint 90 Nichtregierungsorganisationen, die sich auf europäischer Ebene für die Rechte von Flüchtlingen einsetzen. Das Netzwerk recherchiert und beobachtet, um europäische Behörden zu informieren und zu beraten.

Die ECRE-Mitgliederliste gibt Auskunft, welche Organisationen in welchem Land in der Flüchtlingsarbeit aktiv sind.

In der Veröffentlichung "Finanzielle Grundbildung - Programme und Angebote planen" wird ein Kompetenzmodell vorgestellt, das die (Handlungs-) Anforderungen beim Umgang mit Geld systematisiert und beschreibt. Anhand von drei modellhaften Good-Practice-Beispielen für verschiedene Zielgruppen werden praxisorientierte Hilfestellungen mit entsprechenden Übungen und Checklisten für die Entwicklung und Durchführung von Angeboten gegeben. Zudem erfahren Leserinnen und Leser, wie die Zielgruppe für finanzielle Grundbildung erfolgreich angesprochen werden kann.

Via educatie Oost-Vlaanderen ontwikkelde dit overzicht van Onderwijs en Vorming in Vlaanderen. De Stap Gent zorgde voor de update.

Proces kurikulární reformy základního uměleckého vzdělávání v České republice a realizace projektů národních a grantových Národním institutem pro další vzdělávání vyvolaly potřebu posílení dalšího vzdělávání pedagogů a managementu základních a středních uměleckých škol a vytvoření specifické a funkční struktury a systému vzdělávání pro tuto cílovou skupinu napříč celou republikou.

Learners role play working in an HR department and are involved in the processes of recruiting a new member of staff. They decide on what will be involved in the job then working in groups, create a job advertisement, person specification and job description. Useful for helping learners look for jobs.

This activity aims to get young people to produce short written storyboards and then turn this into a children’s story to be read out loud and then recorded on video with the help of other young people in the group. The stories are aimed at the young mums’ children who vary from ages 1 to 6. The group are given some starting ideas for themes and are encouraged to develop the storylines. They are given training in using a digital video camera.

Reading the game is a twelve week football and literacies project developed in Edinburgh. The pack was used to develop the group's literacy skills combined with football skills to provide a positive learning experience for young men in Sighthill.

The pack outlines the different sessions used and includes the support material developed in the course of the project. While the context is set in the Edinburgh area, the materials could be adapted for football interests in other parts of Scotland.

This guidance provides suggestions about how to develop new resources for youth literacies, though the principles are appropriate for any age of literacies learner. It provides an example of the approach and some key questions to consider when developing materials.

In the IPEA's final newsletter of 2015 you will find a description of the National Prison Art Exhibition which took place in Dublin and Limerick over the year. The impact of prisioners of this type of experience is also discussed. There is an outline of the developments in prison reaserch nationally as well as a full overview of their annual conference. 

BBLT is aimed at supporting practitioners working with young people (14 – 25 year olds) on their literacies in a variety of contexts. These could include youth work, adult literacies, training, prison, ESOL, school and others.  It aims to assist practitioners to build on their current experience and become more confident in working with literacies.

BBLT has been split into five sections and an introduction. It contains a mix of practical materials and information on strategies, policies and web links relating to work with young people and literacies.
