Om het niveau van kennis en vaardigheden in kaart te brengen, neemt Nederland deel aan PIAAC (Programme for the international Assessment of Adult Compentencies): een grootschalig internationaal onderzoek dat het niveau en het gebruik van vaardigheden onder 16-65-jarigen in kaart brengt. Het onderzoek is onder leiding van de OECD uitgevoerd in 24 landen en meet het niveau van taalvaardigheid, rekenvaardigheid en probleemoplossend vermogen van volwassenen. Deze vaardigheden noemen we kernvaardigheden omdat het essentiële vaardigheden zijn voor het begrijpen, analyseren en gebruiken van informatie die we in het dagelijks leven en op het werk tegenkomen.

RIC Novo mesto je od aprila do oktobra 2015 izvajal projekt Svetovanje za odrasle.

Prednostne ciljne skupine, za katere so izvajali svetovanje v okviru projekta, so bili odrasli, ki so imeli dokončano največ štiriletno srednjo šolo in so bili zaposleni, stari 45 let in več, brezposelni, stari 50 let in več, mlajši odrasli, ki so zgodaj opustili izobraževanje, Romi, invalidi, migranti in obsojenci.

Насърчавайки интегриран подход към ученето през целия живот, докладът очертава политики и мерки за осигуряване на достъп до възможности за обучение на възрастни, чиито умения и квалификации не отговарят напълно на актуалния пазар на труда и на социалните изисквания. В този смисъл докладът дава широка перспектива, отчитайки и изследвайки голям брой взаимосвързани области.
