The CLOCH project is part of the Heritage Lottery Fund‘s ‘Skills for the Future' programme and has provided work-based training opportunities for 16 bursary holders over three years. CLOCH is a partnership project, led by Glamorgan Archives, bringing together libraries, archives and museums across South Wales to offer placements and work experience in the heritage sector.

This study reviews recent policies and practices aiming to tackle unemployment through addressing skill mismatch in the EU-28 Member States. It examines skill mismatch policy instruments aimed at reducing unemployment as well as measures to prevent it. While much research and analysis on mismatch exists elsewhere, it is the first comprehensive study that maps actual skill mismatch policies and practices in the EU. In-depth case studies help identify promising features of policy practices and contribute to better understanding of impact.

A number of studies show that wealthier people are also healthier. Adult education can help to equalize this situation and empower people with lower incomes and lower educational levels. Many people do not have access to health education and/or information. Policy-makers have a key role to play in ensuring access to health education for everyone. Health literacy is the first step to preventing illness and taking care of one’s health. The paper focuses on three main topics: health literacy; adult education and health and well-being; and health courses in adult education.

Om het niveau van kennis en vaardigheden in kaart te brengen, neemt Nederland deel aan PIAAC (Programme for the international Assessment of Adult Compentencies): een grootschalig internationaal onderzoek dat het niveau en het gebruik van vaardigheden onder 16-65-jarigen in kaart brengt. Het onderzoek is onder leiding van de OECD uitgevoerd in 24 landen en meet het niveau van taalvaardigheid, rekenvaardigheid en probleemoplossend vermogen van volwassenen. Deze vaardigheden noemen we kernvaardigheden omdat het essentiële vaardigheden zijn voor het begrijpen, analyseren en gebruiken van informatie die we in het dagelijks leven en op het werk tegenkomen.

Prednostne ciljne skupine, za katere so izvajali svetovanje v okviru projekta, so bili odrasli, ki so imeli dokončano največ štiriletno srednjo šolo in so bili zaposleni, stari 45 let in več, brezposelni, stari 50 let in več, mlajši odrasli, ki so zgodaj opustili izobraževanje, Romi, invalidi, migranti in obsojenci.
